Why Private?
Private, Group, or both?
Foremost, you want to be a qualified rider. Choosing the right learning experience is a big deal because for your investment you want to be sure you will:
- Come out with the skills needed for street safety and to run from the cops.
- Have an uncomplicated path to getting your motorcycle endorsement (M1).
- Stay within budget
- Not waste your time.

PROS |
*Personalized training optimizes learning. *Methodical, creative & thorough curriculum not read off 3” x 5” cards. *MORE practical knowledge in an avg. of less than ½ the time over group BRCs, including your trip to the riding test. *More riding. All class time is spent with bike. *Pace is individually tailored. Sections not on a stop watch. *Students get as many reps as needed to master each skill. *Usable skills to pass DMV test and ride safely on the streets. *Questions answered and adjustments made in real time. *Significantly reduced accident likeliness. *Students begin to collaborate with coaches on their own progress. We produce thinking riders! *Success rate extremely high. *Can also be great follow up to BRC. Like “finishing school.” *If you drop our bike we won’t automatically send you home. Dropping bike is a learning opportunity not a punishment. *Bike and helmet included. |
*One-stop shopping. Go to DMV one time for written test. Riding test is waived if you pass the BRC. *Methodical standardized curriculum. *Small initial insurance discount for graduates. *Group learning can be fun. *Bike included. |
CONS |
*DMV bypass not available upon Level 1 completion. *Insurance discount not available. *No group camaraderie for those who enjoy the group experience. *There may be a wait for availability during busy season as we are a fairly small organization with just a few coaches. We’ll do our best to get you in asap. Having a flexible schedule can help us calendar you sooner. |
*Course is 17+ hrs. and you still may not be prepared for the streets. *Group learning (waiting for or keeping up with others) can be boring/frustrating. *Minimal practice time per exercise. Must keep up; no ability to work on skills until they are internalized. Slower learners suffer, wash out. Quicker learners get bored. *Moderate success rate. Rigid curriculum does not account for peoples’ different learning abilities. *If you drop the bike in class you will be sent home. |
PRICE |
$400 first two lessons. Rates reduced with additional sessions. | $350 for beginner course. |
SCOOTER |
One class usually enough! | “Apples and Oranges” – Group course on a motorcycle doesn’t make sense if you will be buying a scooter. |

Our Commitment
Simply having a motorcycle license does not make you qualified or safe to ride the streets. Only thorough, specified training and lots of practice can do that.
